February 18th, producer/MC G_Force passed through the Neighborhood at 107.1FM KZME in Portland Oregon. He played some exclusive tracks yet to be released, as well as live rhymes from his latest collaboration with California based DJ Flip Flop. He also talked about his first project released on vinyl, a collaboration with MC Planet Asia. Check out the links to the podcast below (audio)
This is where it began, a peek behind the scenes. MC StarChile and DJ Juggernaut let us into the lab to see how minds come together to create art. Now the fruits of their labor are here for our enjoyment. Here it is y’all – V2! #GetYours

Peace world! If you were in the northwest over the last two weeks, hopefully you had a chance to check out events connected with the NW Hip Hop Fest 3. The event was once again sponsored by radio station 107.1FM KZME, produced by Runaway Productions and featured 50 plus acts at two venues, The Ash Street Saloon and Kelly’s Olympin, over three nights. All of this was preceded by a kickoff event hosted by Skratchpad PDX held at the Blue Monk.
The event was a nice representation of what’s happening in the Portland hip hop scene right now showcasing conscious rappers, funk bands and those just out to have a party. It was also a great opportunity for networking as artists and media from different circles spent time exchanging contacts. It’ll be fun to see what collaborations are birthed from this.
It was also great to see the media coverage the event got not only from the main media sponsor KZME, but also from the Portland Mercury, the Willamette Week, The Skanner and some great photo and video footage from The Portland Observer.
Just prior to the fest, members of the local music community came together in support of MC Libretto. The night featured performances by The Rundown with MCs Destro Destructo, Easy McCoy and Th3ory Hazit, a solo set from the Doo Doo Funk King of Portland himself Mr. Tony Ozier, Libretto’s sister singer/songwriter Angela Davies, Lifesavas MC Vursatyl with Sly The Brown Hornet holding down his set and the night was topped off by MC Cool Nutz with DJ Fatboy. DJ Sneakers played some yet unreleased material from Libretto’s next album and the night overall was a pretty special event.
Check out the photos and video footage from the events and stay tuned for more events as we continue to grow the positive in this NW Hip Hop community.
Coming up next week on Welcome to the Neighborhood, MC Matty will be a guest in the studio with brand new material and maybe even an in-studio performance. I’ll also be debuting the new single from MC Bedoya and have a chance to talk to him about his latest project. Be sure to tune in to 107.1FM KZME from 8-10pm every Tuesday night so you don’t miss upcoming guests including Kyle Steckley, Farnell Newton, Luck-One and Chase Freemen. Also be sure to check out the blog at www.djklyph.com to connect with me and find out more about the new three7 LIMITED project coming soon.
Until next time,
